The Restaurant Association Gala Dinner – Platinum Sponsor The Cayman Islands
1 March 2019
At our Restaurant Association Gala Dinner on Monday this week, diners were invited to play a game of Heads and Tails with the winner taking away a coveted holiday to the Cayman Islands.
The luxury trip included a 7-night stay at the Kimpton Seafire Resort and Spa on the world renowned Seven Mile Beach, and return flights from London; allowing the lucky winners the chance to sample the many culinary delights on offer, including a dinner for two at the Wharf oceanside restaurant overlooking George Town harbour under the stars. The prize also involves adventures for two on the Atlantis Submarine, where you can experience the thrill of journeying beneath the Caribbean Sea for an amazing underwater sightseeing excursion; and entrance for two to our national historic site, Pedro St James, an 18th century great house that offers a window into times gone by.
A British Overseas Territory, the Cayman Islands are located in the western Caribbean Sea, south of Cuba and north west of Jamaica. Comprising three islands, all offer something different from the barefoot elegance of Grand Cayman, to the adventurous spirit of Cayman Brac and the tranquillity of Little Cayman.
Boasting more than 200 restaurants and culinary influences from all over the globe, the Cayman Islands provide an endless array of options to suit any palate. Quality accommodation ranges from beachfront villas, dive lodges to luxury hotels all within easy reach of the beach.
Well known for dining, world-class diving, beautiful beaches and tranquil turquoise seas and incredible wildlife, the Cayman Islands offers a memorable and luxurious experience for visitors of all ages and interests. Watch the sun rise with the stingrays, explore spectacular coral reefs, relax in a beach hammock and eat at a five-star restaurant – all in one day.
Mr Bush said of the event, “These events are particularly important for the Cayman Islands overseas, as here we can showcase the islands to the top of the top in the culinary industry, creating a greater understanding of the Cayman Islands as a significant culinary destination and enhancing and improving future opportunities for Cayman globally.”
